Aimée Farrell Courtney’s dynamic playing ranges from her renowned sensitive style of accompaniment to electrifying rhythmic solos and duets. With a passion for teaching, Aimée has conducted workshops worldwide and in 2016 founded the Traddrum Clinic, Ireland’s first and only percussion clinic dedicated to the Bodhrán.  

Senior All-Ireland champion Siobhán O’Donnell grew up surrounded by the south Sligo style of traditional music and is part of a well renowned musical family of musicians, singers and dancers. Siobhán sings traditional Irish and folk songs and plays bodhrán, fiddle and guitar. She is highly regarded as a performer and recording artist on the Irish traditional music scene, featuring on various albums, most notably Gerry ‘Banjo’ O Connor’s album ‘High Up-Low down’., and currently performs newly formed traditional group, The Ox Mountain Quartet. Siobhán remains in high demand as a tutor, teaching weekly classes in county Sligo and has travelled across the world to teach at workshops and festivals.

The Summer School’s team of tutors is made up of internationally renowned performers with proven track records as teachers and educationalists. The primary means of teaching and learning will be ‘by ear’ with an emphasis in the less experienced classes of assisting pupils to develop oral/aural skills in addition to instrumental competency and developing core repertoire. All classes are designed for intermediate to advanced (minimum 2 years instrument experience) adults and children over 6 years of age except beginner instrument classes, whistle and sing, set dancing, sean nós dancing, traditional singing & sean nós singing which are suitable for all levels including beginners.
